This week we have the pleasure of welcoming Karen Sawyer to speak to us.
This week will be very much different to the usual format which matches our guest perfectly. Instead of recording a radio show, Mike was recorded speaking to Karen Sawyer for over 4 hours delving back and forth, into and out of a range of subjects. Some of the audio that we did not have time to broadcast may be played at a future date. Enjoy the show.
Now available to listen again below. To stream the audio, click the mixcloud picture or use the player underneath (recommended), where a download link is also available.

In Karen’s words,
“On this planet, there exists a diverse range of individuals – of all ages, cultures and beliefs – who have enormous potential to transform ‘life as we know it’ for the better. If you’re reading this, it’s odds-on that you are one of them. By my reckoning, a change of consciousness comes with developing both the mind and the soul. Why? Because only when we empower ourselves with knowledge and acknowledge the divinity within can we become true catalysts for this change. Both are inextricably linked. If we do one without the other, it’s likely we will be either uninformed yet very spiritual people, or highly knowledgeable individuals who neglect their spiritual selves.
A happy and healthy civilisation depends on a balance of the two. For example, directing your thoughts and energies via meditation and visualisation in order to affect change externally is wonderful, but it is also necessary to discover your rights as a sovereign being and (as the song goes) ‘get up, stand up… stand up for your rights’ in the physical world we are often challenged by. In order to do this, we need to be clued-up and savvy. A lot of souls who genuinely have their hearts in the right place are being misled and manipulated in many subtle ways. This cannot happen if we are informed and I don’t mean by watching the news – I’m talking about the ‘bigger picture’ beyond the propaganda we are surrounded with on a daily basis. If you’d rather not go there, just ask yourself one question: if ignorance is bliss, why aren’t there more happy people?
Doing some regular research is not only enjoyable and enlightening, but will help us to make informed decisions that affect our own lives as well as the future generations that follow.
Of course, there is far more to life than research. The side-effects of ‘information overload’ can lead to confusion and paranoia unless this knowledge is balanced with intuitive wisdom and inner-strength. Developing the inner relationship with our spiritual selves will balance this out. It also helps to be ‘grounded’ and to connect with the Earth – visit sacred sites and go for long walks as often as you can. Continue to observe the beauty of the natural world around you, no matter what!
I believe in diversity and balance. We each have the right to express our uniqueness – I believe that’s the whole point of being here in the first place. The informed spiritual person is a powerful force to be reckoned with indeed…”

You could definitely see your expertise in the paintings you write. The arena hopes for more passionate writers such as you who aren’t afraid to mention how they believe. At all times follow your heart.
